IP & Copyright

A legal disclaimer - Nov 1, 2025

We respect intellectual property. runBTB INC. (“runBTB,” “we,” “us”) operates our site, apps, and any property that links to this policy (the “Service”). We may disable or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others’ IP rights.

Privacy Policy - the basics

1) Scope & Laws

This policy explains how to report copyright, trademark, or other IP infringements on the Service. We respond under the Canadian Copyright Act and the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

2) How to report copyright infringement

Send a Notice of Alleged Infringement including all items below:

  • Your identity & signature: full legal name and physical/electronic signature.

  • Work identified: the copyrighted work (or a representative list if many works).

  • Infringing material: what to remove/disable and where it appears (e.g., exact URL on our Service).

  • Contact details: mailing address, phone, and (if available) email.

  • Required statements:

    • “I have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”

    • “The information in this Notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I am the owner or authorized to act for the owner of the copyright or an exclusive right under it.”

Where to send (Designated Copyright Agent):
Copyright Agent c/o runBTB, Attn: Legal Matter
Mail: 1628 Rossland Road East, Whitby, ON L1N 9Y3
Email: care@runBTB.ca

What we do: We review the Notice and may remove or disable access to the identified material at our discretion.

3) How to report trademark infringement

Send a notice with:

  • Your identity & signature and contact details.

  • Mark(s) identified: registration certificate(s) (if registered) or evidence of rights and use (if unregistered), including where and how you use the Mark.

  • Challenged use: enough detail for us to locate it on the Service.

  • Required statements:

    • “I have not authorized the challenged use and have a good-faith belief it is not authorized by law.”

    • “Under penalty of perjury, the information is accurate and I am the owner of the Mark or authorized to act for the owner.”

Send to the same Designated Copyright Agent above. We will review, notify the user, and take appropriate action at our discretion (which may include temporary or permanent removal).

4) How to report other IP infringement (e.g., patents, designs)

Provide:

  • Your identity & signature and contact details.

  • IP identified: a description of the IP, proof of ownership in the relevant jurisdiction (e.g., patent/registration/certification), and enough information for us to conclude—without unreasonable effort—that it’s been infringed.

  • Challenged use: details to help us locate it.

  • Required statements: same good-faith and accuracy/perjury statements as above.

Send to the Designated Copyright Agent. We will review, notify the user, and take appropriate action at our discretion.

5) Counter-notice (for removed/disabled copyright content)

If your content was removed/disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, send a Counter-Notice including:

  • Your signature (physical or electronic).

  • What was removed/disabled and where it appeared before removal.

  • Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone, and (if available) email.

  • Required statements:

    • “Under penalty of perjury, I have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled due to mistake or misidentification.”

    • “I consent to the jurisdiction of the provincial court or U.S. federal district court where my address is located (or, if outside Canada/US, any judicial district where the Service may be found) and will accept service from the person (or their agent) who sent the original complaint.”

Send to the Designated Copyright Agent. In appropriate circumstances, we may restore the material, subject to applicable law.

6) Repeat infringers

Where appropriate, we disable and/or terminate accounts of repeat infringers. Questions about this policy can be sent to our Designated Copyright Agent.
